Position: National Professional Development Training Manager
The National Professional Development Manager will be responsible for working with the National VI-P Manager to coordinate and provide professional development training and initiatives for the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This role will supervise and oversee the trainings and workshops to centers focusing on the VI-P program and others when available. The candidate will also work closely with VRS Interpreting Center Managers and Directors on overseeing and providing direct support to the Professional Development Trainers on Professional Development Plans for working Video Interpreters and Mentors. In addition, this position will work with the National VI-P Manager and National Director to provide experitise, training, and curriculum consultation on professional development initiatives both internally and externally. In addition, the NPDM will be responsible for the oversight and leadership for the Language Mentor Program and Organizational Development within the PD department. The successful candidate will be available to develop and provide workshops and training on a national level as well as any special projects that may be assigned by Headquarters or the National PD Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the national PD training team
- Provide consultation, training and support for the PDT team, VI-P staff, and Sorenson Communications management.
- Work in collaboration with the National VI-P Manager on the VI-P program working with all centers within the company to implement and maintain the VI-P program through training and support initiatives.
- Assist with the coordination and ongoing research and development of resource materials for skills development and/or enhancement of Sorenson VRS Video Interpreters.
- Coordinate and oversee established partnerships with Interpreter Training Programs and Sorenson Communications
- Be available for special projects as assigned.
- Able and willing to travel on a national level including Canada and Puerto Rico.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive Certificate from a national interpreter certifying entity (RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI and NAD Level V, NIC) and/or comprehensive state certification granted through a certifying entity such as a Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred
- Proven background in managing people, projects and programs with a minimum of 5 years experience, this is a must
- 5+ years experience mentoring, providing workshop training, and teaching interpreters preferred
- 5+ years working experience as a certified sign language interpreter in a variety of settings preferred

Position: Sorenson VRS Center VI-P Coordinator
Locations:
The VRS Center VI-P Coordinator will be responsible for working with the National VRS Professional Development team to manage and provide dedicated support to the VRS Interpreting Center. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the VI-P program through working with operations to compile reports, keep statistics and measure the overall success and failure rate of the program. The candidate will work closely with the National Professional Development Manager and VRS Center Director to coordinate mentoring services and workshops within their home center as well as monitoring the program and making recommendations for support to VI-P interpreters, mentors, operations, and interpreting center management.
In addition, the candidate will be available to provide skill-building trainings and workshops and work closely with the Professional Development Department on developing Professional Development Plans for working Video and VI-P Interpreters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, Train, and administrate the VI-P program within the VRS Center.
- Provide training and support within the VIP program for the region as needed
- Provide ongoing support to the Sorenson VRS Interpreting Center.
- Provide regular skills and/or knowledge training and follow up with the language mentor and center VI-P trainers.

Sorenson VRS is seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to function as Operations Coordinators at the above Sorenson VRS Interpreting Centers. This person is responsible for managing the training and working schedules of video interpreters. The operations coordinator analyzes schedules and projects staffing needs in order to meet service level requirements from headquarters. Other responsiblities include handling shift requests and assigning schedules to both employees. The operations coordinator will also provide analysis for the VRS center director for recruiting purposes and process invoices, time cards, and payroll documentation to ensure accurate record keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, and review schedules
- Maintain accurate availability lists
- Verify billing, invoices, and payroll reports; correct discrepancies
- Assist with general VRS center office HR; including employee relations, new hire orientation, and special projects
- Assist in scheduling new hires for training with the VRS center manager/trainer
- Track and measure individual productivity
- Evaluate schedule and workflow to identify opportunities for improvement
- Track vacation and personal leave requests for time off to ensure coverage
- Coordinate scheduling changes with the VRS center director and manager; resolve scheduling and invoicing problems
- Provide documentation to the VRS center director and trainer on changes to schedules and new trainee schedules
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly statistics
- Conduct invoicing and time sheet audits
- Arrange for trainee accommodations and transportation

Position: Area Specialist - Northern California
Sorenson Communications is looking for a full-time Area Specialist to provide support for the current customer base
in the region and manage the trainer team throughout several counties in Northern California. Applicants must have
working knowledge of basic computer functions, as well as experience with videophone protocol and routers.
Previous experience as a Sorenson VRS Trainer a plus. Applicants must have excellent presentation skills and
must be fluent in technologies related to installing IP-based videophones. Applicant should be comfortable
presenting to large groups of individuals of all ages. Additionally, applicants should be able to train and motivate
local trainers and/or support staff. Please note that this is a home-based, full-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Senior Outreach Manager.
- Works with Marketing and Events teams to conduct seminars and training sessions with deaf constituents at
deaf schools, institutions, events, etc, explaining how to use various Sorenson Communications products
and services.
- Manage a team of approximately 15 trainers throughout Northern California.
- Manage the process of recruiting customers, installing and training users on how to use a videophone,
answering consumer questions, and managing technical support requests.
- Must be able to travel when needed to workshops and events within the identified territory as assigned
(Note: Most events occur either on a weekend and/or during evening hours).
Qualifications:
- Strong management skills and ability to train and motivate staff.
- Excellent presentation and demonstration experience.

Sorenson Video Relay Service (VRS) is seeking professional installers to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing customers with installing the Sorenson VP-100 videophone and/or Sorenson EnVision SL video relay software. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting networking issues and training customers on how to place a video relay call.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and a good understanding of the deaf culture

Position: Marketing Events Materials Coordinator
Sorenson Communications seeks an Events Materials Coordinator to support key marketing initiatives. The role of the Events Materials Coordinator is to execute assigned projects including event inventory management, the receipt and delivery of materials, the ordering of shipping materials, and other event-related projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Marketing team to coordinate events and sponsorships
- Monitor the marketing material inventory levels and to order shipping materials as needed
- Manage the shipping room ensuring it is clean, organized, and functional

Sr Software Test Engineers are responsible for testing Sorenson Communications software tools. They work as members of a development team to develop quality products. They define how products are tested, carry out that testing, record and track defects, and prepare the products for release.
Responsibilities:
- Test all aspects of Sorenson Communications software products.
- Work as part of a product development team.
- Plan testing efforts and create test timelines and schedules.

Sorenson Communications is seeking software test technicians for testing Sorenson Communications Video Relay and IP Relay services. Software test technicians are responsible for testing Sorenson Communications software services and tools, as well as Sorenson Videophone hardware and firmware. They work as members of a team to develop quality video relay service products. They define how products are tested, carry out that testing, record and track defects, and prepare the products for release.
This position is part-time, 29 hrs/week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report service related issues and interface with the Sorenson VRS Technical Support Department.
- Must be knowledgeable about the VRS application, FCC regulations, policies and procedures of Sorenson Communications, and all updates to the VRS software and equipment.
- Must be knowledgeable about CSA and booth public mode setting.
- Must be familiar with all technical aspects of installing Sorenson VRS products including networking, router configurations, and firewall issues
- Must have knowledge of the Internet and accessing to Web CPanel
- Knowledge of web programming is a plus
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of advanced computer functions, including web administration interface.
- Experience working with Excel & Word documents.
- Previous experience as a Sorenson Trainer and management experience with Sorenson field personnel.

Position: NOC Specialist Engineer
Sorenson Communications seeks applicants for the two available NOC specialist engineer positions to monitor production systems for 24x7 hour operations and provide front-line operations support. NOC specialist engineers provide customer service and technical assistance to VRS interpreters and deaf and hard-of-hearing customers. Applicants must be prepared to use technical and communication expertise to help Video Relay Service (VRS) and IP Relay users with Sorenson technology. NOC specialist engineers provide system maintenance and configuration and report to NOC support.
The two available NOC specialist engineer positions are full-time at 40 hours per week.
Required:
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of six (6) months experience installing/configuring networks and PCs
- One (1) year experience monitoring and managing production computer systems
- One (1) year customer relations experience
- One (1) year supporting Windows computers
- One (1) year MS Office product work experience
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Process and detail oriented
- Must understand TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls, bridges and modems
- Must be able to work effectively in a high-stress environment
- Work scheduling requires days, night and weekend shifts as needed
